Before use, the plancha metal is silver in color, when burnt in or used, the surface changes from silver to dark and forms a protective layer on the surface. When new, weld marks can be seen in the corners, which become unnoticeable when the dark layer is formed. It is not recommended to wash steel plancha in the dishwasher. In a dishwasher, the burnt-in protective coating will come off and the burn-in process should be redone.
